Guillermo del Toro on 'Avatar: The Way of the Water': A master at his peak
The two-time Oscar winner was among the few lucky ones who managed to see the new creation of a colleague.
Critics, as well as viewers, will not be able to see Avatar: The Way of Water for several weeks. Its author, James Cameron, keeps the 2009 film sequel safe from prying eyes. But the author of the series "Cabinet of Rarities" managed to enjoy the spectacle, and he had the most positive impressions from watching.
"A stunning achievement," del Toro tweeted the day before. “(Avatar: The Path of Water is full of) majestic views and emotions on an epic, epic scale. The master at the peak of his strength ... ".
Such a review from a friend and colleague for Cameron is worth a lot. This year, Guillermo del Toro is likely to be nominated for the Oscar for Best Animated Picture with the cartoon Pinocchio Guillermo del Toro. And the author of the second "Avatar", as they say, will become a candidate for the prestigious film award in the category "Best Visual Effects". Avatar: The Way of Water will hit theaters on December 14th.
