Quentin Tarantino didn't cast Johnny Depp in Pulp Fiction

"Shot" Jack Sparrow could appear in a cult picture.

One of the most sensational films of the nineties, Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction could become even more stellar.

As it turned out, Johnny Depp, who was very much wanted to see the project's executive director Mike Medavoy, claimed the role of Pumpkin.

The director himself tried on Christian Slater for this role, but in the end it went to Tim Roth.

As Tarantino himself recently recalled, he knew about Depp's talents, but he wanted a whole group of main characters to shine in his film, and Johnny, with his appearance on the screen, could easily draw all the attention to himself.

Although Tarantino himself, and John Travolta, and Samuel L. Jackson, and Uma Thurman, and Bruce Willis played in Pulp Fiction. So, one star more, one less. But Tarantino decided so.
