Emma Stone will star in "Cruella" sequel

The 33-year-old actress is so far the only one who has confirmed participation in the new film.

Emma Stone has agreed to reprise her role in the sequel "Cruella". Recall that this fantasy drama premiered on May 18, 2021, simultaneously in cinemas and on Disney+. At the box office it was a success - $233 million was collected in theaters and another $54 million on the streaming service.

So far, of the cast of the original film, only Stone is clamed to take part in new project. However it's possible that most of her colleagues will also work on the sequel. These include Joel Fry, who played Jasper, and Paul Walter Hauser, who played Horace. According to the story, they are Cruella's longtime adventurous partners. Mark Strong may reprise his role as John, who stays in Hell Hall at the end of the film. And Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Kayvan Novak as Anita Darling and Roger are expected to get more screen time in "Cruella 2" than in the first film.

Emma Thompson's character in the sequel will probably be acting out of prison, and she's not ready to give up quickly. "I'll get my revenge," Baroness says after her detention at the end of "Cruella." She is notoriously violent and has yet to fully deal with Cruella.

Technically, the new picture is a sequel whose events predate those of "101 Dalmatians" (1996). Officially, the synopsis of the sequel has not been made public, but it is known that the writers will dedicate it to the next stage of Cruella's adventures. According to them, viewers will enjoy watching them in light of the fact that Emma Stone's character has fully embraced the "dark" side of her nature.
