Lea Seydoux will star in the reboot of Emmanuelle

A new film version of Emmanuelle Arsan's novel will be presented by the author of last year's Venice hit, The Event, Audrey Couch.

Lea Seydoux, winner of the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, has signed on to star in Audrey Couch's new film, which will be a revision of the '70s erotic film drama "Emmunelle" (1974).

Its plot was based on a novel by Frenchwoman Emmanuelle Arsan, describing a series of embodied erotic fantasies in various places. The 1974 adaptation by director Juste Jacquin received critical acclaim and inspired the filming of several sequels. The script for the new film will be written by Couch and Rebecca Zlotowski.

Audrey Diwan is known for her work on the drama "The Event", which won the "Golden Lion" at the Venice Film Festival in 2021.
