James Gunn Denies Jacob Elordi Confirmation For Superman Role
"The casting hasn't even happened yet," the 56-year-old director and co-director of DC Studios assured fans.
It looks like Clark Kent comics fans can't wait for confirmation of who will play him in the next movie anytime soon. Rumors that Jacob Elordi, known for the TV series "Euphoria", could get a landmark role, hastened to refute James Gunn.
Jacob Elordi is rumored to be James Gunn's Superman in the DCU. Thoughts? My thoughts are that the casting hasn't even happened yet," Gunn tweeted, along with a couple of photos of Elordi dressed as the famous superhero. “Casting, as is almost always the case with me, will happen after the script is written or it is close to completion, and there is no other way,” the director explained, adding: “We will make some announcements in the near future, but the casting Superman won't be one of them."
James Gunn and Peter Safran took over as directors of DC Studios last October. And almost immediately after that, the Guardians of the Galaxy director announced that he was writing the script for a new Superman movie. The performer of the superhero role in the films "Man of Steel" (2013) and "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" (2016) Henry Cavill, after meeting with Gunn and Safran, announced that he would no longer return to the famous image.
