Published teaser and footage of the second season of "Hornets"

Showtime has released a teaser trailer for the second season of the series The Hornets, filmed in the thriller genre. It begins with Natalie (Juliette Lewis) admitting that "the darkness is coming back to us again." Whatever it is during their time of need, Misty (Christina Ricci) tells herself to hold on and not cry. In the video, you can also see a new character performed by Elijah Wood ("The Lord of the Rings"). He remarks, referring to the heroine Ricci: "Kidnapping, cults, deaths - your friendship is not like everyone else's."

The plot of the project is built around teenage girls, members of the school football team, whose plane crashes in the dense forests of Canada. The action develops in parallel in two time layers - when the heroines were young and 25 years later, when they are trying to cope with difficult memories. The series also starred Melanie Lynskey, Tony Cypress, Sophie Nelisse, Jasmine Savoy Brown and others. In the second season, they will be joined by Lauren Ambrose (“Servant”) and Simone Cassel (“Obi-Wan Kenobi”). Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson were the creators, showrunners and executive producers.

The first season of The Hornets was watched by 5 million viewers, making it the second most watched show on Showtime. The premiere of the new season is scheduled for March 24th.
