'Gossip Girl' reboot canceled after season 2
Viewers will see the final episodes at the end of January.
On January 26, the final part of the second season of the relaunched series Gossip Girl will be shown on air, and on this the project says goodbye to the audience.
According to some reports, the scale of the audience did not live up to the expectations of HBO Max, as a result of which it was decided not to launch the project for the third season.
As producer Joshua Safran explained, the first season showed significant viewership. But the second part could not keep the audience near the screens.
Due to fear of the failure of the third season, the channel refused to put it into production.
The original show from The CW lasted six seasons, and quite famous actors grew out of it - Penn Badgley, Blake Lively, Ed Westwick and others. The restart of the cult series lasted three times less.
