Justin Theroux's 'Mosquito Coast' canceled after season 2
The audience did not appreciate the second part of the project.
The adventures of the family of scientist Ellie Fox, who settled on a remote island in an attempt to hide from the American intelligence services, ended in two seasons.
The first part in 2021 with Justin Theroux, Mellisa George, Ian Hart and Logan Polish showed high views and excellent ratings, forcing the creators to immediately take on the second season.
However, the sequel frankly failed, showing weak ratings and a restrained assessment from critics and the audience. So there won't be a third season.
By the way, the series was filmed based on the novel of the same name by the uncle of the lead actor, Paul Theroux, who just insisted that his nephew be taken into the project.
