Director Zack Cregger takes over Weapons from New Line Studios
The director's fee will be an eight-figure sum.
New Line has announced the production of a film called Weapons, the plot of which is being kept secret.
But judge by all appearances, the project has been allocated a serious amount of money and the producers want to see a real masterpiece at the box office.
Only Zack Cregger, who will manage the filming process at the director's desk, is rumoured to receive an eight-figure fee.
The cast has not yet been announced either, but insiders have hinted that Weapons were inspired by Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia.
