Jake Gyllenhaal plays a sergeant in The Translator trailer
The 42-year-old actor is no stranger to playing characters on the edge.
In the official trailer for Guy Ritchie's new film, Jake Gyllenhaal appeared as a soldier who is rescued in Afghanistan by one of the locals, translator Ahmet. The actor is not a novice in the performance of serious, requiring deep immersion, roles. He played in such dramas as The Version (2007), Zodiac (2007), Captives (2013), Stringer (2014), Stronger (2017) and others. Undoubtedly, Gyllenhaal likes roles, requiring emotional stress, and characters in stressful situations.
Therefore, viewers will not be too surprised when they watch the first trailer for The Translator. As always, in the films with the participation of Jake, the events in this crime thriller are developing rapidly. After being wounded, the protagonist suffers from amnesia, but feels that he must return to the battlefield for deeply personal reasons.
Ritchie co-wrote the script with Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies. The film will be released on wide screens on April 21st.
