After the tragic incident in October 2021, the parties agreed to continue working.
Production of the action thriller Rust, starring Alec Baldwin, will resume in the spring of 2023. This was reported by the company Rust Movie Productions, which is behind the filming of the film, on which in October 2021 an accident occurred with cameraman Halina Hutchins. Baldwin accidentally shot her with a weapon that was supposed to be loaded with blanks. But in fact, it contained a warhead.
According to the producer, director Joel Sousa, who was injured in the tragic incident, will return to the set with four members of the team to complete the film. Hutchins' husband will also serve as an executive producer, along with Oscar nominee producer Grant Hill (The Thin Red Line). Baldwin, 64, will continue to work on the film as the lead actor. Bianca Klein (Marseille, the Shell in the Shoes) was approved as the cameraman, and she will donate the entire fee to the Halina Hutchins Charitable Foundation.
The press release specifically notes that “the use of working weapons and any type of ammunition will be prohibited on the set. Combat ammunition - and always has been - is prohibited on the set.
