A fourth Hellboy movie will be made
It will be directed by a director known for his work on the film series Adrenaline with Jason Statham.
The fourth Hellboy film, which follows two Guillermo del Toro films with Ron Perlman and a third film with David Harbour, will be an adaptation of the 2008 comic book Hellboy: The Crooked Man. Author and illustrator Mike Mignola released it at the same time as the release of del Toro's second film, Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008).
According to the official synopsis, the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Protection (BPRD) agent Hellboy is stranded in the 1950s in sparsely populated Appalachia. There they (the Bureau) discover a small community beset by witches led by a devil who has a connection to Hellboy's past in the form of Crooked men. In the comic, this character is portrayed as an eighteenth-century miser and war profiteer named Jeremiah Witkins. He was hanged for his crimes, but returns from Hell as a local resident who embodies absolute evil
The new film will be directed by Brian Taylor, known for his work with Mark Neveldine on the Adrenaline film series. Mignola was mentioned in the credits of the del Toro sequel, now he will write the entire script for the fourth installment, and fans have already taken the news with enthusiasm. They believe it may safeguard the film from the box office failure that the third film in the franchise suffered.
