Chris Hemsworth named his favorite villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Chris Hemsworth called Gorr, the Assassin of the Gods, played by Christian Bale in "Thor: Love and Thunder," his "favorite" enemy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And it is worth a lot, because Hemsworth starred in the franchise since 2011, when the first film about the adventures of the thunder god "Thor" was released. In the next round of his struggle, reflected in the new film directed by Taika Waititi, the fanatic Gorr is also involved.

This character first appeared in the comic book Thor: God of Thunder in 2013. At first he was introduced as an adept of a religious cult, but after losing his family he renounced his faith and promised to slay all the gods of the universe, for which he got his nickname. Eventually, a desperate mission led him to Thor. Bale, who played Gorr, told reporters that he had no idea of the magnitude of the work when he signed up for the role. But he did his job, according to Hemsworth, brilliantly.

"Everything you can imagine, (Bale) brought to this character ... nuance and versatility and truth and lightness. He's the best performer I've ever worked with. And I was so excited to have him on the project. What he did defines my favorite villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe," said the actor.

"Thor: Love and Thunder" will be released on July 6.
