Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to action comedy
Monica Barbaro and Jay Baruchel also played in the first TV project of the 75-year-old actor.
Netflix has given Arnold Schwarzenegger fans a sneak peek at his new project. Fubar is the first television series for an action star. The plot revolves around a father and daughter who discover they've been keeping the same secret for years: they're both CIA operatives and lie to each other to protect themselves. The action will develop over eight episodes. They will be available on Netflix in May.
Arnold Schwarzenegger will showcase his comedic talents in this story in the style of his early film True Lies (1994). “Everywhere I go, people ask me when I will do another action comedy like True Lies. So she's close. "Fubar" will throw you off the couch and make you laugh - and not for just two hours. You will have a whole season. It's a joy to work with Nick (Santora), Skydance and Netflix and give your fans exactly what they expect," the actor said ahead of the series' teaser trailer.
The creator, showrunner and executive producer of Fubar was Nick Santora, who has extensive experience working on series in the thriller genre. He took part in the filming of such projects as "Jack Reacher", "The Most Dangerous Game" and "Scorpion". In an official statement, Nick described Fubar as "the most surreal project" of his career and hinted that the series will be "a hysterical, spy comedy mixed with incredible action."
