Jennifer Aniston defends the series
It's all about the evolution of the comedy genre, the actress explained.
Jennifer Aniston has responded to criticism of Friends. Young users of social networks have repeatedly pointed out that some of the jokes in the history of the famous six are not at all funny, and even very offensive to some. Since 1994, Aniston played in the HBO project Rachel Green, which brought her immense popularity and allowed her to work in comedy films such as Here Comes Polly (2004), We're the Millers (2013) and others.
Speaking to AFP, the actress spoke at the premiere of her new film, Murder in Paris, about the evolution of the comedy genre. “Now it’s not easy, because you have to be very careful, which makes it difficult for comedians, because the beauty of comedy is that we laugh at ourselves and life,” Aniston said. “You could joke about hypocrisy and laugh - it was hilarious. It was about showing how funny people are. And now we are not allowed to do that.”
According to Jennifer, even before it was necessary to think over some jokes so as not to cause an uproar. But there has never been such a sensitivity to humor as there is now, she added.
