The film "Lilo & Stitch" has found a female lead

The company on the set of Zaku Galifianakis will be a native of Hawaii, Maya Kealoha.

Disney has found its Lilo. Aspiring actress Maya Kealoha has been cast in the upcoming film Lilo & Stitch, which will be a remake of the 2002 animated hit of the same name.

Set in the Hawaiian Islands, the story revolves around the friendship between a lonely girl, Lilo, and an alien creature named Stitch. He was genetically engineered to be a force of destruction. With meddlesome social workers and aliens chasing them, the two team up to win the battle for freedom and equality. Zach Galifianakis joined the project in February. The film, of course, will not do without the use of computer technology. What role Galifianakis will play is still unknown.

The original cartoon was a big hit at the box office, grossing $273 million on an $80 million budget.
