Stanley Tucci names his least favorite movie role

The actor agreed to her due to lack of work.

Stanley Tucci has no desire to remember one particular character he played more than 10 years ago. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 62-year-old actor admitted that he would never agree to reprise his role as serial killer George Harvey from the 2009 crime drama The Lovely Bones.

"It was terrible," Tucci said of the true-life film. In the story, Harvey kills a 14-year-old neighbor girl (Saoirse Ronan), who, after death, is watching him and her family. "It's a great movie, but a tough experience just because of the role," he added. Despite this, Stanley was nominated for an Oscar for his work in The Lovely Bones, but lost the victory to Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds).

“I asked (director) Peter Jackson why he gave me this role. I tried to give it up and it was crazy because I needed a job. But I wanted to know: “Why did you choose me? And he said, "Because you're funny." According to Tucci, he perfectly understood what Jackson meant. “He thought that I could be not too – not too serious in this role, not too dramatic… That's what you have to do when you play someone so terrible. You cannot fully accept it, ”said the actor.
