Warner Bros. to direct Beatlejuice sequel

Producers announced the launch at the CinemaCon conference in Las Vegas.

Warner Bros. unveiled a list of new projects on which it is currently working at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Among them was a sequel to the 1988 fantasy comedy, Beetlejuice 2.

The lead role in the original film was played by Michael Keaton, playing an exorcist who is hired by a recently deceased couple to drive new tenants out of "their" house. By this date, it is known that Keaton will reprise the role in the sequel and Tim Burton will once again sit in the director's chair.

It is possible that Jenna Ortega will appear on screen as the daughter of Lydia Dietz, who was played by Winona Ryder in the 1988 film. Nothing is yet known about Ryder's possible involvement in the second Beatlejuice.
