The historical melodrama "Jeanne Dubarri", where the Hollywood actor performs one of the main roles, is filmed in France.
French filmmaker Maiwenn teased with the first shot from his new picture, "Jeanne Dubarry." In the photo you can see Johnny Depp in the image of King Louis XV.
This is the American actor's first role since the beginning of his legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard. In June, a verdict was handed down that the actress slandered her ex-spouse in a 2018 essay she wrote for the Washington Post. At the time, she claimed to be a victim of domestic violence without naming her abuser.
Filming of "Jeanne Dubarry" began in late July in Paris and the Ile-de-France region. In particular, the exteriors of the Palace of Versailles were used. The script was written by Maywenn together with Teddy Lussi-Modeste, who also participates in the film as an actor.
