Work on the film “Avatar 3” has entered the final stage, the franchise’s permanent author and director James Cameron said in a conversation with New Zealand’s TVNZ. "We're in a very intense two-year post-production phase right now, so it's going to be around Christmas 2025," he said.

Filming of the third "Avatar" began in 2017, simultaneously with work on the film "Avatar: The Way of Water" (2022), and ended in 2020. They were attended by Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Kate Winslet, Jack Champion and others.

“I was just shocked by it (the Avatar 3 script). It has a sharp left turn, which is not a bad thing. You think you know where you're going, but then a bomb ball hits you. And you are perplexed: “Wow, I never thought this would happen.” You'll also see more of Pandora's regions and experience other cultures. So I think it will be even better than the second Avatar. Overall, they will be better together,” Champion told THR in December 2022.
