Women in cinema: Red Sea Festival opens in Jeddah

The evening dedicated to the “female” influence in cinema was attended by Zoe Saldana, Michelle Williams, Sharon Stone and others.

As part of the Red Sea Film Festival, taking place in Saudi Arabia, a gala evening “Women in Cinema” took place. It honored women who actively work on film sets and in editing rooms. Among them were Diane Kruger, Michelle Rodriguez, Mavenn, Michelle Williams, Catherine Martin, Sharon Stone, Baz Luhrmann, Garrett Hedlund and others.

The international film festival opened in Jeddah, the second largest city in Saudi Arabia, on November 30th. Traditionally, at this time of year, the air here warms up to 30 degrees Celsius, so many stars are in a hurry to leave the northern hemisphere with its winter and find themselves on the shores of the Red Sea, combining business with pleasure - both work and relaxation.

The Red Sea Film Festival will continue until December 9th. In the evening, after the awards, a screening of Michael Mann's new film, the biopic "Ferrari" with Adam Driver in the role of the famous Italian automobile designer, is scheduled.

And participants and guests will be able to get acquainted with the recent project of the Japanese studio Ghilbi and director Hayao Miyazaki, the animated fantasy “The Boy and the Bird” on the last day of the forum.
