Netflix shared footage from the filming of the new, second season of the science fiction series “The Sandman.” It is based on a comic book series by Neil Gaiman, who is the creator and executive producer of the project. “This week we officially restarted production on the next series of Sandman stories for Netflix,” he said. “Brilliant showrunner Allan Heinberg and the countless people in front of and behind the camera are building something infinitely special and bringing these stories to life in a way that was once unimaginable.”

Tom Sturridge will return to the role of the lord of dreams Morpheus, and Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones) will once again appear on screen as Lucifer Morningstar. It remains unknown when the second season will be released on Netflix. At the same time, as fans of the Sandman comics note, there is no better time to release new episodes than 2024, since Neil Gaiman's graphic novel will mark 35 years since its publication.
