Apple TV+ will turn the literary series by American Martha Wells, which received the prestigious Hugo Award for it, into a 10-episode project. Alexander Skarsgård has been cast in the lead role. The story follows the half-robot, half-human "SecUnit" as he realizes his identity. True, he is forced to hide his free will in order to complete a dangerous task. The development of “Killerbot Diaries” will be carried out by brothers Chris and Paul Weitz, known for their work on the dramatic comedy “My Boy” (2002).

Based on Wells' acclaimed books, "The Killerbot Diaries" is an action-packed sci-fi series about a self-dissolving android horrified by the human emotions produced by its vulnerable "clients," Apple's official synopsis says. “Killerbot is given a dangerous task, while all he wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and determine his place in the universe.”
