HBO renews 'The Gilded Age' for a third season

Viewership ratings for this costume drama are not declining.

Mrs. Russell and Mrs. Astor's struggle for social supremacy is far from over. HBO has renewed The Gilded Age for a third season. However, the release date for the new episodes has not yet been announced.

In the finale of the second season, shown on December 16, the public saw the long-awaited kiss of Marian Brooke (Louise Jacobson) and Larry (Harry Richardson), among other interesting collisions. "I think it was always a potential," series creator Julian Fellowes told reporters about the kiss. "Of course, when we cast the actors, they auditioned as a couple who would look the part on screen if we got to that point. You never have "It's not entirely certain, because sometimes performances don't happen, or circumstances come into play, or ideas are added to the original plan that you don't stick to. Other key characters leading their respective games include Christine Baranski as aristocrat and socialite Agnes van Rijn, Cynthia Nixon as Agnes' sister Ada Brooke, Dene Benton as Agnes' secretary Peggy Scott, and Blake Ritson as Agnes' son Oscar van. Reyna, Taissa Farmiga as the Russells' daughter Gladys, Kelli O'Hara as Agnes' niece Aurora Fain and Donna Murphy as the influential Caroline Astor.
