Hayao Miyazaki's "The Boy and the Heron" was an undeniable hit at the Golden Globe Awards.

The new animated picture of the Japanese maestro, who returned from retirement at the age of 82, surpassed Marvel Studios' feature-length animated film "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse". It grossed about $700 million at the box office.

"The Boy and the Heron," released in early December, had managed to earn about $143 million by this day. However, this did not detract from its artistic merits in the eyes of experienced film critics, who eventually awarded him the "Golden Globe Award".
