Millie Alcock, who played young Rhaenyra Targaryen in the first season of HBO's House of the Dragon, will appear on screen as the Girl of Steel. The 23-year-old Australian actress has signed on to star in upcoming DC Studios projects led by James Gunn and Peter Safran. The first will be Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, based on the DC comic book series of the same name developed by Tom King and Bilquis Evelly.

The project does not yet have a director, but only a screenwriter. In November, it was announced that Ana Nogueira (The Vampire Diaries) will be writing the script. Gunn personally confirmed Alcock's casting on social media. And many DC fans have concluded that it's likely Millie will debut as Supergirl before her titular film. Most likely, this will happen in the film “Superman: Legacy,” whose release is scheduled for 2025.
