Amazon MGM to release documentary about Celine Dion
A year ago, the singer announced her neurological diagnosis - rigid person syndrome or Mersch-Woltmann syndrome.
The documentary about one of the most famous singers of our time will be called “I Am: Celine Dion” and will be available to watch on Prime Video. The premiere date is still unknown.
According to Amazon MGM, the project will not be the usual extended look at the life and career of a prominent artist, but rather will be stylized as a snapshot of a turning point in her work. The film, which spans a year, follows Dion's battle with stiff person syndrome, a rare autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord and is characterized by muscle stiffness.
The artist said she hopes her documentary will raise awareness about this little-known disease.
