Miles Teller to play lawyer in Michael Jackson biopic

Miles Teller has joined the cast of Michael as John Branca. As a lawyer, he helped Michael Jackson transform from boy band star to “King of Pop.”

The musician hired Branca after his father, Joe Jackson, was fired as his manager. In particular, the lawyer helped the singer of the hit “Thriller” buy ATV Music Publishing in 1985 for $47.5 million, which, for example, retained the company’s rights to songs by the Beatles. John collaborated with Michael until his death, and then, according to the will, acted as executor of the estate.

Filming of the biopic has already begun under the direction of director Antoine Fuqua from a script by John Logan. The film's premiere is scheduled for April 18, 2025.
