Michael Jackson's nephew Jafar is his spitting image. This is the impression one gets when looking at the first frame from director Antoine Fuqua’s new film “Michael.” The plot is built around the life and work of the “king of pop”, who passed away in 2009 at the age of 50.

Fuqua himself posted a photo of the 27-year-old actor on social media as the late musician. Their identity has become undeniable for many. Jafar is the son of Michael's older brother Jermaine. “Your first dive into the film “Michael.” Starring Jafar Jackson. In cinemas from April 2025,” the director captioned the photo. He also added that the photo was taken by photographer Kevin Mazur, who documented Jackson Sr.'s last rehearsal in 2009.

In the photo, Jafar is shown wearing a white shirt and tank top with black trousers. It was in this form that Michael gave concerts as part of the world tour in support of the Dangerous album from 1992 to 1993. Then his performances took place not only in the USA, but also in Europe, Asia and Latin America. In September 1993, he came to Moscow, where he gave a concert at the Luzhniki Stadium. In total, 3.5 million people around the world witnessed Jackson's tour. And the profit from the tour reached $100 million.

Last month, Jafar shared another photo on social networks, showing him at one of the rehearsals for the film. “I am honored to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life. Dedicated to all the fans, see you soon,” he noted.

Speaking to EW, Antoine Fuqua said his mind is "blown away" by Jafar's portrayal of his uncle. “His resemblance to Michael is incredible. Sound, dance, singing. One is simply inseparable from the other,” the director noted.
