“In 1972, Karl Lagerfeld was 38, and he had not yet tried on the iconic hairstyle. He is a ready-to-wear designer unknown to the general public. A meeting with the daring and ambitious intellectual, poet and artist Jacques de Bascher pits the most enigmatic fashion designer of our time against friend (and rival) Yves Saint Laurent. He has already spoken loudly in the world of high fashion and received the support of influential businessman Pierre Berger,” says the official synopsis of the project.

The action of the series “Becoming Karl Lagerfeld” will unfold in the 70s of the last century in Paris, Monaco and Rome and will follow the complex and contradictory personality of the Parisian couturier, who set out to become the emperor of a fashion empire. Viewers will see glamor and clashing egos, big parties and destructive passions in this story of Karl, before he became Lagerfeld.
