The trailer for the comic book “The Raven” has been published

The main role was played by Bill Skarsgård, known for his role as Pennywise the clown from the It franchise.

Lionsgate has released a trailer for its new film The Crow. It was directed by Rupert Sanders and stars Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs.

The upcoming film is a remake of the 1994 film, based on the graphic novel by James O'Barr. Then the main character Eric Draven, stuck between earth and sky, was played by 28-year-old Brandon Lee. Filming was overshadowed by his tragic death as a result of a shot from a weapon that was accidentally loaded with live ammunition. The situation was exactly repeated almost 30 years later on the set of the western “Rust” in 2022, when cameraman Halina Hutchence died.

The plot of the film is built around Draven and his beloved girl Shelley. They are brutally killed by a gang of touring tourists. Not wanting to leave this world as a helpless victim, Eric declares a vendetta on criminals, taking advantage of his newfound qualities. For example, he is not injured by live bullets and edged weapons. The released trailer is filled with intense violence, including a scene where Eric shoots himself in the chest to defeat a surprise attacker and then removes the sword from his body to finish the job.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Sanders discussed the themes the film explores. “What brought me to this project was the opportunity to recreate on screen a dark romance, something to do with loss, grief and the eternal veil between life and death that one can go through.”

The original "The Crow" was directed by Alex Proyas. For Brandon Lee, this film was supposed to be a springboard into big cinema. After his death, the film production was going to be closed during the ongoing investigation. But Proice was still allowed to complete the editing and the film was released by Miramax in 1994.

"Of course it was a terrible tragedy, and that's always what we kept in mind when we made the film," Sanders told VF. - Brandon had his own style, and I think he will always be associated with “The Raven.” I hope he's proud now of what we did and how we interpreted history. His soul lives in this film. There’s a real fragility and beauty in his take on The Crow, and I think Bill felt like he was following him on set.”

Skarsgård is known for his roles in the horror franchise It. FKA Twigs was noted for her work in Alma Harel's drama Honey Boy (2019) with Shia LaBeouf. She also gained acting experience by appearing in video clips for her songs.

The world premiere of "The Crow" is scheduled for June 7th.
