Jeff Bridges is ready to return to the network. He signed a contract to participate in the third part of the fantasy franchise "Tron", whose release is scheduled for 2025. The actor first appeared in the cyberverse in 1982, when the first film was released on wide screens. Fans had to wait a long time for the continuation; they saw the sequel “Tron: Legacy” only in 2010 and, again, with Bridges in one of the roles. Now it has become known that the cast will be headed by Jared Leto (Ares), and the film will be directed by Norwegian director Joakim Rønning (Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, 2019) from a script by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne. “I'm leaving this Saturday to do Tron 3,” Bridges said shortly before filming began. – Jared Leto will play the main role. I really want to work with him because I admire his work."

The authors of “Tron” are a kind of pioneers in the use of computer graphics, forced to reproduce the world of a video game based on the plot. Bridges' character Kevin Flynn gets there and gets stuck. In the sequel, Flynn is already in a more advanced version of the game in the form of his digital double Clu. This character was also played by Jeff, but the designers had to significantly rejuvenate him, again, with the help of CGI.
“I didn’t like the way I looked in that character,” Bridges said after filming the sequel. – I was more like Bill Mar (American comedian) than myself. And it's a little strange." But according to the actor, in Tron 3 it is expected that there will be less artificial intelligence or its use will not be as obvious to viewers. There were more location shootings than in the second part. “I've seen some amazing locations, so we'll see,” Jeff concluded.

However, he refused to reveal details about his character in the new film. And it remains unclear whether it will be the same Kevin Flynn or someone else. At the end of Tron: Legacy, Flynn eliminates Clu and himself from the virtual world, allowing his son Sam (Garrett Hedlund) and Quorra (Olivia Wilde) to return to the real world.
Hedlund and Wilde are unlikely to appear in the third part. The narrative will be built around Leto's hero, Ares, another digital program integrated into the human world. In addition to Leto and Bridges, the film stars Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Gillian Anderson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan and Sarah Desjardins.
