Warner Bros. is close to finalizing a seven-figure deal to film “Avengelyne.” The graphic novel or comic book of the same name was created by Rob Liefeld, known for writing another movie franchise, “Deadpool.” The main character of “Avengelyne” is an angel fighting the forces of Evil. According to Deadline, Margot Robbie is set to star in the upcoming film, Olivia Wilde (“Don't Worry Darling”) may direct, and Tony McNamara, who wrote the screenplay for the recent hit “Poor Things” (2023), will take on the literary foundation. Production will be given to LuckyChap, the company Robbie co-founded with husband Tom Ackerley, Josie McNamara and others. LuckyChap was behind the filming of Barbie (2023), a movie that received 8 Oscar nominations and grossed over $1 billion at the box office.

About the plot of the new Warner Bros. brainchild, it is known that Avengelin in her desire to defend the bright side of the world often meets all kinds of demons and monsters. She is a fearless member of the heavenly army, who single-handedly broke into the hellish fortress of Pandemonium to confront the devil himself. But she is cast out of heaven for doubting God's love for humans through deception. Avengelin was stripped of all her angelic abilities, except for her immense strength and blood, which, when removed from her body, can serve as a weapon, according to the Bible. The heroine, standing up for the Good, is preparing to become the last hope of mankind in the coming Armageddon.

Margot Robbie, who has received plenty of praise for her work on “Barbie,” said late last year that she wanted to take a break from acting and focus on producing. But after a few months, she apparently missed the camera and reincarnations and is ready to “go into action” again. “Suicide squad” (2016) and “Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)” (2020). However, the latter film performed very poorly at the box office, and Robbie has fallen out of favor with DC Films. As for Olivia Wilde, her last directorial effort to date, "Don't Worry Darling" (2022) grossed over $87 million on a budget of $35 million. She has never directed a superhero saga, so she is looking forward to trying her hand in a new genre.
