There is an air of jubilation in the streaming industry as one of the giants in the industry, Netflix, has announced the start of work on a sequel to its acclaimed hit. Fans of the cult series Wednesday, dedicated to the adventures of a young member of the Addams family, can breathe a sigh of relief because their favorite characters will return to the screens in the second season.
To whet the interest of viewers, the streaming platform released a teaser video, which was posted on the official Netflix YouTube channel. In the exciting video, viewers can watch the movements of the Thing - a living hand that plays the role of a kind of assistant. This inanimate limb travels along the hotel corridor, pushing a cart loaded with scripts for new episodes. The Thing stops at every door, equipped with a sign indicating the name of the actor and his character, and leaves a plump folder with lyrics under it. In the finale, an ominous but funny messenger knocks on the last door, and Wednesday Addams herself, played by Jenna Ortega, comes out of the room in response to his call.

In addition to the video, a general photo of the film crew of the new episodes was published on the series’ official social media account. In the picture you can see both actors already familiar from the first season and newcomers to the project.

However, viewers will also be able to meet a whole galaxy of new actors, including the legendary Christopher Lloyd, remembered from the cult trilogy “Back to the Future”, the charismatic Steve Buscemi from the criminal masterpiece “Reservoir Dogs”, as well as Billie Piper, Joanna Lumley, Francis O 'Connor and Jonas Suotamo, best known for his role as Chewbacca in the new Star Wars trilogy.
The second season will once again be directed by Tim Burton, who was one of the main directors of the first eight episodes. The exact premiere date for the sequel has not yet been announced, but filming itself has already started.
