Despite her long and impressive film career, it's hard to argue that Reese Witherspoon's most popular role is Elle Woods. The pink-lover, blonde, Gemini, vegetarian, Harvard Law School graduate, and animal rights advocate continues to inspire women of all ages.

Therefore, the reaction of fans to the announcement made recently by the actress on social networks is not surprising - “Legally Blonde” will be filmed as a television series, a spin-off of the film franchise. The 48-year-old actress presented the information in Elle's signature look - a Dolce & Gabanna suit made of hot pink tweed with a miniskirt and a cropped jacket. Despite the fact that the first Woods film was released 23 years ago, Reese/Woods looked almost identical to the version of the heroine that was introduced in 2001. Yes, not much has changed, except for Bruiser the Chihuahua, who will likely join Reese on set.

Details of the project are still being kept secret, but Witherspoon said that the television series is called Elle and will be a prequel in terms of plot. It will cover the events leading up to Woods' departure to Harvard and will generally focus on a "typical '90s high school girl." Although Reese looks great for her age, it is unlikely that she will play the lead role in the project. Most likely, she will produce and promote it for the Prime Video streaming service. The premiere is scheduled for next year.

Many fans have already suggested that Woods could portray Witherspoon's daughter Ava Phillippe on screen. “Please admit that your daughter will play this role,” one user wrote under the actress’s post. “Will your daughter play Elle?” insisted the second. “So, who's going to play Elle in high school? Ava?? This seems to be the only answer we want,” a third follower concluded.
