"Batman" on the other side: the trailer for The Penguin mini-series has bee

The main role in it was played by Colin Farrell, who again showed the wonders of reincarnation on the screen.

Warner Bros. Discovery released a new trailer of the series, set in the universe of the movie "Batman" (2022) Matt Reeves. The project is about one of the most influential kingpins of the criminal world Penguin. On the TV screen he was embodied by Colin Farrell, as well as on the wide screen two years earlier.

The plot will begin to unfold immediately after the events recorded in Reeves' blockbuster. The hero named Oswald Cobblepot or Oz Cobb is persistently trying to gain influence in the criminal community of Gotham and become an egregious villain. After watching the movie "Batman", where Farrell's character had a little screen time (only 9 minutes), fans came to love the work of the makeup artists. Under the magical hands of head artist Mike Marino, the lean and youthful for his 44 years, the actor turned into a heavyset, elderly man with a scarred face.

"He created a puppet and I'm the puppet, that's how I envision it. It's like a summary of what happened," Colin explained his piety for the master's work. - 'He created this exceptional puppet and I was able to bring it to life, and that's a joy.'

In the same, completely unrecognizable, Farrell worked on the set of "Penguin". He was joined by Cristin Milioti as Carmine Falcone's daughter Sofia, Michael Zegen as Carmine's son Alberto and Clancy Brown as Salvatore Marioni, a former high-ranking gangster. Renzi Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O'Connell, Carmen Ejogo, Francois Chow and David H. Holmes are also in the cast of the project.

Lauren Lefranc ("Agents of S.H.I.E.L.L.D.") took on the duties of writer, executive producer and showrunner of "The Penguin", while Matt Reeves acted only as its executive producer. In addition to playing the lead role, Colin Farrell also took on the production. The first three episodes were directed by Craig Zobel, known for his work on the series "Mare of Easttown" (2021) with Kate Winslet.

Filming of "The Penguin" began in March 2023, but was postponed in June because of the strike of Hollywood writers and actors. The work process resumed only in late November of the same year.

Meanwhile, the premiere of the Batman sequel, which Reeves and Robert Pattinson are currently working on as Batman, has been delayed by a year. The film will be released in theaters on October 2nd, 2026. The Penguin mini-series will launch on the Max streaming service this September.
