Trailer for action-packed film 'The Trap' starring Josh Hartnett released

The 45-year-old actor played a leading role for the first time in a long time.

M. Night Shyamalan's new thriller, "The Trap," is almost here. Its premiere is scheduled for August 1st, and in the meantime, Blinding Edge Pictures, the studio behind the film, has released a second trailer.

The plot revolves around serial killer Cooper (Josh Hartnett), who agrees to his teenage daughter's request to attend a concert of a popular singer together. However, once at the stadium, the hero realizes that the entire action was organized by the police with the sole purpose of catching him.

This is Hartnett's first major role since he rose to fame in the early 2000s with roles in films such as Pearl Harbor (2001), Black Hawk Down (2001), 40 Days 40 Nights (2002), and others. For Shyamalan, this is also a milestone in her film career, as her films have not had much success since the hit The Sixth Sense with Bruce Willis. And The Trap, in this sense, could restore his "creditability" in Hollywood.
