Hollywood loves a great comeback, and no one knows this better than Robert Downey Jr. He overcame his addiction to psychotropic drugs, legal troubles, and a tarnished reputation to become a Marvel superstar and Oscar winner. And for nearly two decades, he has been trying to lend a helping hand behind the scenes to his younger colleagues on their path to sobriety. Armie Hammer, known for his roles in The Social Network (2010) and The Lone Ranger (2013), confirmed this fact on the Piers Morgan Uncensored TV show.

During the nearly 90-minute conversation with Piers Morgan, the actor commented not only on the scandal of three years ago that cost him his career and marriage. In addition to the sexual harassment charges brought against him, which the Los Angeles police were never able to confirm, he spoke about treatment and Hollywood’s support on the road to recovery. And he also cleared up rumors that Downey Jr. was a key figure in the process.

When asked by the host whether Robert paid for Armie's stay in a rehab clinic, he replied: "No, he didn't. He didn't pay for anything." But he also noted that the actor who plays Iron Man is always ready to help when it comes to addictions. "If someone in Hollywood who suffers from problems with alcohol, addiction to various processes or illegal drugs decides to quit, this guy will find them and help them. It's amazing."

Armie then revealed the best advice he received from Robert: "Calm down, shut up, and everything will be fine." "I don't want to drag anyone into my situation. There are a few people who help me a lot, and I am incredibly grateful to them for that," Hammer noted. According to him, these include Italian director Luca Guadagnino, who is not "afraid to speak out and support," as well as Johnny Depp, with whom the actor has had several serious conversations.
