The trailer for the fantasy film "The school for Good and Evil" is out
The main roles were played by Charlize Theron and Kerry Washington.
The first full-length trailer for "School for Good and Evil" has arrived. Based on the acclaimed Shoman Chainani book series, the film's plot follows two best friends Sophie (Sophia Ann Caruso) and Agatha (Sophia Wiley) as they find themselves in a magical school with fabulous characters. These include Captain Hook, the Wicked Witch of the West, King Arthur and others. Sophie is sent to Lady Lesso (Charlize Theron), who teaches the villains, while Agatha finds herself in the hands of Professor Dovey (Kerry Washington), who trains the characters.
The action-packed video promises viewers what Chainani previously described as a Netflix franchise "along the lines of the Harry Potter movie series." However, the novelty, he said, would be "a little more representative, a little more inclusive." Surrounded by fairy tale classmates, Sophie and Agatha dream of finding their place in the School for Good and Evil.
In addition to Theron and Washington, the new film stars Cate Blanchett, Michelle Yeoh, Ben Kingsley, Laurence Fishburne and more. "The school for Good and Evil" was directed by Paul Fig, known for his work on " A Simple Favor" (2018). For the sake of filming, a semblance of a real school was lined up, as the director does not like to use computer graphics in his work.
"School for Good and Evil" will debut on Netflix on Oct. 19.
