George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon to star in new Ocean's Friends
Steven Soderbergh will direct the picture, like all the others in the franchise.
George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon will return to the screen again as Ocean's Friends. This will take place 15 years after the release of the last film of the franchise. This time, the Hollywood stars will reunite for "Ocean's Fourteen" after they swore in 2007 that they would never do it again. But as you know, never say never.
"Rumors about a movie with George, Brad and Matt had been going on for years, but there was no time, because of their busy schedules it was impossible," a source close to the actors told The Sun newspaper. "Finally, the right team came together to work toward great success, and the stars thought it would be great to get together again. The franchise is very popular and a great storyline is too good an opportunity to pass up."
The franchise was launched in 2001 with the movie Ocean's Eleven. Its plot was built around Danny Ocean (Clooney) and Rusty Ryan (Pitt), who plotted to rob a $160 million casino. The establishment was owned by Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia), the lover of Danny's ex-wife Tess (Julia Roberts). The picture grossed $450 million at the worldwide box office and prompted the filming of two sequels, Ocean's Twelve (2004) and Ocean's Thirteen (2007).
