Filming of the second season of "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power"
The first season was filmed in New Zealand and cost Amazon a record $426 million.
British Bray Studios, an hour's drive from London, has begun production on episodes of the second season of "Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power." The first season of the series will be available for viewing on Amazon Prime on October 14.
It was decided to move the filming of the second season to the UK from New Zealand because of its high cost. It cost Amazon Studios $426 million to produce eight episodes. And this came after a $250 million copyright fee.
Since the day it premiered on Sept. 1, total viewing for The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power has been 1.25 billion minutes in its first four days. Viewing for its closest competitor, the HBO TV show "House of the Dragon," totaled 741-n billion minutes during the same time period
