Netflix published the trailer for the musical "Matilda"
Emma Thompson played the role of the odious principal Agatha Trunchbull in it.
On December 25th, an adaptation of the famous Tony and Laurence Olivier Award-winning musical, Matilda, will be released on the big screens. For the literary basis is taken from a book by the British children's writer Roald Dahl, which he published in 1988.
Netflix is behind the production of the picture. According to the official synopsis, it will be about a girl named Matilda Wormwood (Alisha Weir). She has a sharp mind, great curiosity, a rich imagination and...the world's worst parents. While they (Stephen Graham and Andrea Riseborough) are busy watching slapstick TV shows and inventing dubious money-making schemes, Matilda is forgotten in the pages of her favorite books. Where they behave loudly, selfishly, and dismissively, she quietly observes, devising little acts of rebellion and revenge."
The published trailer gives an idea of the tone of the adaptation as well as the musical numbers, including the hit "Revolting Children." You can also see a completely unrecognizable Emma Thompson in the negative role of Agatha Trunchbull in the video. The movie Matilda was directed by Matthew Worchas, a Briton.
