The new DC creation grossed $26.8 million on the first day.
The power hierarchy at the U.S. box office has changed. "Black Adam" by Warner Bros. production company based on DC Comics topped the rankings, pushing the romantic comedy "Ticket to Paradise" to second place.
The sci-fi action film starring Dwayne Johnson grossed about $27 million dollars on its first day at the box office, which is considered to be a pretty good indicator for this kind of picture. It is expected that in the period from Thursday to Sunday "Black Adam" will collect a total of $62 million. Thus, experts are predicting it to finish second between "Aquaman" (2018) with $67 million and "Shazam" (2019) with $53 million, which was also based on the DC Comics.
Although critics aren't thrilled with "Black Adam," Warner Bros. producers have already said they don't want to keep audiences waiting long for the sequel and are already working hard on it. The trailer for the first part can be seen above.
