China tops the top 20 most populous countries in the world

According to the United Nations Foundation, on November 15, 2022, the number of people on Earth reached the 8 billion mark.

Significant growth has been seen mostly in the poorest countries, especially in sub-Saharan Africa.
In terms of population, China leads the way with 1.457 billion people.

In second place is India (1.423 billion), with 337 million people in third place in the United States. The top 10 most populous countries are: Indonesia (282 million), Pakistan (232 million), Nigeria (219 million), Brazil (217 million), Bangladesh (169 million), Russia (146 million), Mexico (133 million).

The top 20 list includes Japan (126 million), Ethiopia (121 million), the Philippines (113 million), Egypt (107 million), Vietnam (100 million), the DR Congo (96 million), Turkey (88 million), Iran (86 million), Germany (83 million) and Thailand (70 million).
