Jeremy Renner made contact after snowplow accident
The 51-year-old actor shared a hospital selfie on social media and thanked everyone for their support.
Jeremy Renner reached out to followers on social media two days after being seriously injured in an emergency with a snowplow. The Marvel movie star broke his silence by sharing a photo from his hospital bed on social media. “Thank you all for your kind words. I'm too tired to type right now. But sending you all love,” he wrote in a comment.
On January 1st, Renner suffered blunt force trauma to the chest and injured limbs after he was involved in an accident with a snowplow outside his vacation home near Reno, Lake Tahoe, Nevada. He was taken by helicopter to the nearest hospital, where he was operated on the next day. After that, the actor remained in the intensive care unit in a critical but stable condition.
At a press conference, Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam shared the details of the incident. It turned out that the performer of the role of Hawkeye helped a relative rescue a stuck car from snow captivity. A snow storm that came to Nevada threw snowdrifts almost a meter high. “Mr. Renner went to get his PistenBully or snowcat – a very large piece of snowplow weighing at least 14,330 pounds (6.5 tons) – with the goal of getting the car moving. Having successfully towed it from the spot, Mr. Renner exited the PistenBully to speak with a relative,” Balaam said. “And at that moment, according to an eyewitness, PistenBully began to rotate. To stop him, Mr. Renner tried to jump into the driver's seat. As it turned out during the investigation, at that moment Mr. Renner was hit by PistenBully. No third party was involved in the incident and is being treated as a tragic accident, the sheriff said.
