Tulip Day celebrated in Amsterdam
The national holiday opened the tulip season, which will last until April.
The day before, Amsterdam celebrated a national holiday - Tulip Day. Traditionally, it falls on the third Saturday of January, and on the occasion of the celebration, a real tulip garden appears on the city square of Amsterdam.
The festival is attended by locals and tourists from all over the world.
This year, as part of a charity event, 200,000 tulips were distributed free of charge to the guests of the holiday. Everyone had the opportunity to collect their own unique bouquet and take it home.
The tulip season in Amsterdam will last until April.
