Fashion designer Paco Rabann has died
The "father of fashion avant-garde" was 88 years old.
Spanish-born Paco Rabann, known for creating best-selling fragrances and unique space age clothing, has died at the age of 89. His eponymous brand took to social media to describe the founder as a "visionary" and "outstanding" figure in the fashion world.
The name of Raban became widely known in the 60s of the last century, when he presented to the public the unique clothing models created outside the then mainstream using metal and other atypical materials, calling them “space fashion”.
Raban has led a secluded life since leaving his fashion house in 1999 after his 33rd haute couture show. From February 27th to March 3rd, Paco Rabanne will show a ready-to-wear collection at Paris Fashion Week.
