Mexico has submitted a letter of intent to organize the Olympic Games
Marcelo Ebrard, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Maria José Alcala, president of the Mexican Olympic Committee, met at the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee to deliver the document to the president of the organization, Thomas Bach.
Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard confirmed this Friday that Mexico has submitted its letter of intent to host the games in 2036 or 2040 to International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach.
Ebrard and Maria José Alcala, President of the Mexican Olympic Committee, delivered the said letter to Bach at the IOC Headquarters in Lausanne (Switzerland).
The 2028 Olympic Games will be held in Australia, 2036 and 2040 remain free.
Other countries that have shown interest in hosting the 2036 Olympic Games are Egypt, England, India, Indonesia and Qatar.
