Turkey will launch its first observation satellite on April 11

Turkey's first observation satellite will be launched on April 11, 2023. This was announced by the President of the Republic Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday.

IMECE is an Earth observation satellite. It was developed by Space Technology Research Institute Tubitak-Uzay. The satellite will be put into a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 680 km.

The device will be able to receive and transmit high-resolution images with less than a meter of detail. The tasks of the new satellite include serving the defense sector, natural disasters, climate monitoring and the agricultural sector.
