Kate Middleton and Prince William's children had their last names changed

After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the throne passed to her son Prince Charles, who became the new King Charles III.

In the same way, from top to bottom, all the members of the royal family acquired new titles, including the youngest.

But, as it turns out, the title change alone was not enough. Prince William and Kate Middleton's children must get used to the new family name - the same one their father and uncle, Prince Harry, wore as children.

After William and his wife became Prince and Princess of Wales, the last name of George, Charlotte and the younger Louis changed from Cambridge to Wales.

According to people close to Kate Middleton's family, she had to have great patience to explain to her children the importance and necessity of the new family name instead of the familiar old one.
